FAQs

Q. What options do I have for paying?

A.
  • Bank account - If you've added and confirmed your bank account with PayPal, you'll be given the option to pay with your bank. If you've added a back-up funding source (like a credit card, for example), you'll be given the option to make an "instant transfer," to be paid quickly to your recipient. Otherwise, you'll have the option to pay with an "eCheck," which typically takes 3-5 days.
  • Credit card or debit card - If you don't have any funding sources linked to PayPal, we'll ask you to enter your credit card or debit card in order to send money. If your credit card is already linked, you'll have the option to pay with your card. If this option doesn't appear on the review page, select "change" under payment method to add a credit card.

Q.

What happens if I send money but it's not accepted or claimed?

A.

If you send money to someone who decides not to accept the payment, the recipient can deny the transaction, and the full amount will be returned to your PayPal account. If you used your credit or debit card to send the money, the money will be returned to the card you used or to your PayPal balance.
If the person you sent money to doesn't claim the money within 30 days, the full amount will be returned to your PayPal account, credit card, or debit card.

Q.

How much money can I send at once?

A. You have a sending limit of $2,000 within PayPal until you become a verified PayPal account holder.
Once you're verified, you may be able to send up to $10,000 per transaction within the US.
